Out the Door in Houston
A longtime Houston Reporter is leaving The Firm after 26 years.
KRIV Reporter Andrea Watkins has decided after 26 years, it's time to spend more time with the family.
She did her job, signed off and said goodbye.
How refreshing....no long goodbye, no ego post that "I'm leaving at the end of the year." Just go to work, pack up your stuff and tell people you're done.
Watkins posted this message on her Facebook page.
Just letting you know that today is my last day at Fox26. I've enjoyed 26 great years at the station but it's time to relax a bit, enjoy more time with my family, and look for new adventures down the road.
It's been a great pleasure and privilege to tell the stories I have told over the years. Thank you to all for allowing me to share your information, concerns, and experiences with the people in the Houston area and beyond!
No BS...no long goodbye....just two pargraphs and she's done....I love this woman.
Mike McGuff says that Watkins arrived at KRIV in 1990 as a weekend anchor and producer. She came to Houston from KFDA Amarillo where she reported for four years. It was in her home state where she started her TV career at WVIT in Hartford, CT.
