Palm Springs is getting a new ND, and it's not from the list of usual candidates.

KMIR-TV is hiring Ross Becker as its new news leader. Right now, Becker is the primary anchor at KUSI in San Diego.

Ross knows the Coachella Valley well, being he has a home there and commutes to San Diego.

Prior to KUSI, Becker worked in LA, Salt Lake City and Las Vegas. He was also an anchor/correspondent for MSNBC.

He starts January 3rd.
