The Firm Makes Taking Time Off Difficult
If you are working at a Fox O&O, then you know that taking a simple day off from work is no easy task.
KSAZ (Phoenix) News Director Doug Bannard wants staff to basically make their entire vacation requests for 2017 by the end of this month.
Also, after your vacation request is approved, it's still not really approved. This from an internal memo obtained by FTVLive:
After we approve the dates requested on your Vacation Projection Calendar, you will receive a memo confirming the dates. At that time, you must “Request Time Off” through My FOX Pay. Your vacation is not approved until your supervisor signs off on the request in My FOX Pay and you receive a confirmation e-mail.
It gets to the point where it might just be easier not to take any days off, then jump through all the hoops.
