Katie Couric is coming back to NBC's Today to sit alongside Matt Lauer.

For one week anyway. 

Couric, who is the Global News Anchor for Yahoo has a lot of free time on her hands, so starting on January 2nd, she will co-host Today. 

Couric has been gone from Today longer than Matt Lauer's hair. 

Savannah Guthrie is off on maternity leave and NBC figures that can start 2017 with a sweeps stunt that is sure to drive people to The Today Show. 

Now many millennials might be asking, "who the hell is Katie Couric and what is Yahoo?"
