HuffPo Pulls the Trump Addendum on Stories
The website the Huffington Post is making another change in regards to Donald Trump.
When Trump first started his run to the White House, HuffPo said that would only cover him as an entertainment story and he would not be covered in their political section.
After Trump won the primary, HuffPo started covering Trump on the political portion of their site, but added this to the end of each Trump story:
"Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S."
Now, the Huffington Post has decided to drop the Trump tagline.
In a memo to the staff, Washington Bureau Chief Ryan Grim wrote:
“The thinking is that (assuming he wins) that he’s now president and we’re going to start with a clean slate,” Grim wrote in the memo, obtained by POLITICO. "If he governs in a racist, misogynistic way, we reserve the right to add it back on. This would be giving respect to the office of the presidency which Trump and his backers never did."
