Voters Have Grown Sick of the Media
I have said this a number of times over the past few weeks. The biggest loser in this election is the media.
Of course, cable news is one of the biggest reasons for that. The antics of cable news has infected many of today's so called Journalists. Their antics have also given the entire industry a black-eye.
Last night, CBS's 60 Minutes asked Republican pollster, public opinion analyst and CBS News consultant Frank Luntz to put together a group of voters and get their thoughts. Skipping what the voters said about Trump and Clinton, let's get to their thoughts on the media.
The panel’s dissatisfaction was not just with social media…it was with all media…which they see as an enabler and part of the electoral process that delivered the two unpopular presidential candidates to their doorstep.
Frank Luntz: They’ve now dismissed all of you for your biases, for your focus on entertainment, for this battle for ratings and profitability rather than information and knowledge. And they simply now collect information to affirm themselves rather than to inform themselves. But when we don’t even agree on the same facts, then how can we possibly agree on the same solutions?
The media can continue down this road which will likely end in self destruction, or it can make REAL change. Stop the hype and tell the story. Stop with the breaking news that isn't. Stop with the self serving crap and start telling real stories about real people.
Every story you do, think about it, before you report it.
It wasn't that long ago that the media was extremely trusted. Now, almost no one trusts you.
Ask yourself why? Then make the change.
Do it now, before it's too late.
