DC General Manager out and Replaced (Updated)

WUSA GM Mark Burdett sent a memo to the staff, telling them he is gone at the end of the year.

When Gannett (now Tegna) hired Burdett back in February of 2012, Dave Lougee, President on Gannett (now Tegna) Broadcasting said, “He brings back to broadcasting a fresh perspective on serving our viewers and the community at large.”

Looks like the freshness has worn off and WUSA is now looking for a new GM.

Here is the internal memo sent to the staff and obtained by FTVLive:

Update: FTVLIve FIRST told you that Burdett was out and didn't take long for Tegna to name a replacement.

The company announced that  Richard J. Dyer will be the new president and general manager of WUSA. Beginning his new role on January 2, 2017, the move marks a homecoming for Dyer. He is a hometown DC native.

Dyer was the president and general manager of WLWT, the NBC affiliate in Cincinnati.
