Lester Holt came this/close to missing last night's NBC Nightly News. 

Just two hours before the broadcast, Holt was stuck on the ground in Boston, waiting for his flight to take off. 

NBC started making up backup plans in Holt could not arrive on time at 30 Rock, but never underestimate a TV Anchor and their face time.

With the newscast starting at  6:30PM, Holt landed in New York and at 6:09PM, he knew there was no way he was going to make it through all the traffic by car, our hero decided, he had to go underground. 

It's the ratings book and Lester knew he had to get there. But, if you have ever ridden the subway in NY, you know it is not always very reliable.

So, would our hero arrive in time? 

Would he?

Maybe....

But then.......

YES!

8 minutes before the broadcast, Lester Holt walked into 30 Rock and NBC Nightly News went on the air, with Holt at the helm.
