Sources tell FTVLive that Tegna summoned all their News Directors to a big content transformation summit two weeks ago.

It seems that Tegna wants to do away with the current daily news operation style and start going more into "unique content".  

The company wants to see more news shows that look different. Examples used were 'Next with Kyle Clark' KUSA, 'Verify with David Schecter' WFAA. 

The ND's were told to  "burn down the house" with the old methods, and in with the new.

This is all a follow up to the Tegna buyouts and the company's vision for the future. 

Some of the ND's are shaking their head at Tegna's new vision, while others are buying into it. 

"Let's face it, the old way isn't really working anymore, " said one Tegna news boss that is signing on with the company's new way of doing things. 

Sources tell FTVLive that digital will become the first priority with television being second.
