Savannah Guthrie Lands President and New Contract

NBC's Savannah Guthrie is having a good 2015 so far.

Guthrie has landed the President for his annual Super Bowl sit down interview and she has also landed a contract extension.

Guthrie has inked a 3 year extension to stay on as the Today Show co-anchor a job she took over in June 2012.

Guthrie walked in when Ann Curry was pushed out. Guthrie said that she came in quietly and kept her head down when she was named Curry's replacement.

"It required a delicate touch," Guthrie told the LA Times. "My own approach was not to go in there with guns blazing, saying, 'Pay attention to me.' It called for someone to come in, put their head down and do the work. I tried to be a credit to the show and not another problem."

Now, Guthrie also gets to interview President Obama before this year's Super Bowl. It has been custom of the President to sit down with a network news Anchor from the network that is broadcasting the game.

Guthrie got the nod and will talk to the President before kickoff.
