Tacking on News in Tucson

KGUN in Tucson is adding a new newscast Monday on sister station KWBA.

The station says that Good Morning Tucson Extra (must have taken days to come up with that name) will premiere on The CW Tucson (KWBA-TV).

The new program will air from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. on weekdays as an extension of Good Morning Tucson, which airs from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. on KGUN9 On Your Side, the sister station of The CW Tucson.

Good Morning Tucson Extra will feature anchor Liz Kotalik, meteorologist April Madison and "Big Al" with Beat the Traffic.

"We believe this is another option for viewers to get even more news, weather and traffic during busy mornings," said News Director Tom Burke.

"I am excited that we will be able to provide our viewers with additional local news in the 7 a.m. hour," said Jim Arnold, KWBA vice president and general manager.

"This is another opportunity for new viewers who already enjoy CW programs to get local news and weather they may not have seen before."
